ISSUES

Opinions on this site are my own

Student Mental Health
Retaining our Great Teachers
  • Reduce the student to counselor ratio (Currently some of our hard hit schools have approximately 750-1,056 students per 1 counselor)

  • Develop More Onsite and Online Resources for students

  • Reduce the stigma of mental health issues

  • Student Survey and Input

  • First, we must respect our educators

  • Increase benefits and pay

  • Provide additional mental health resources for teachers

  • Partner with ASU and MCCCD future educator programs

  • Create multiple teacher opinion polls

  • Put emphasis on administration and teacher communication

Safe and Affordable Student Transportation
Transparency and Community Involvement
  • Reduce the transportation cost for GPS ($5.33 Per Mile, $1,564 Per Student)

  • Better benefits for bus drivers

  • Apply for time sensitive grants for electric transportation

  • Review electric transportation cost preventative and utilize programs right now that give grants to school districts.

  • Include bus drivers in testing new vehicles

  • Provide ways to communicate directly to elected officials.

  • Update GPS website to clearly identify meetings in which the community may attend.

  • Create more opportunities for parental feedback and staff feedback.

STUDENT & STAFF SAFETY

As a candidate for the school board, one of my top priorities is to ensure the safety and security of our students and staff. I believe that it is crucial to implement security upgrades and measures that can help prevent potential threats and emergencies.

  • Prioritize funding for security upgrades and security guard salaries.
